Certification Classes
To register for the Inspector class Nov 11-14, 2024 click here
If you prefer to mail a check to register, send us an email with the date you would like to take the class. We will reserve you a spot and email you the form to mail in.
To receive certification as an installer you will need to take
the installer introduction class. NCSTA offers the Installer Introduction Class.
All 2024 installer introduction classes are full.

Grade Level II certification covers most normal residential systems in NC. Effective 9/1/24 to receive a Grade Level II certification you will need the installer introduction class which is a 24credit hour class.
Grade Level IV certification covers all onsite wastewater systems. Effective 9/1/24 to receive Grade Level IV certification you will need the installer introduction class plus 6 hours of continuing education and a passing grade on the certification exam. Notice: Effective 1/1/25 to receive a Grade Level IV you will need to have been
certified as a Grade Level II a minimum of two years prior to application for Grade Level IV.
Inspector certification is required to perform inspections on existing systems for real estate transactions. To receive certification as an Inspector you will need to take the Inspector class plus 6 hours of continuing education and obtain a passing grade for the Inspector exam. Notice: Effective 1/1/25 any applicant for Inspector certification will need to have the following:
Minimum of two years satisfactory certification of one of the following: GL IV installer, Evaluator or subsurface operator. In lieu of experience requirements the applicant may complete education requirements
for a GL IV installer certification.
The NCSTA installer introduction class is offered at the NCSTA Training Site in Lexington, NC.
